it’s strength shrouded
by unspoken words
a clear resolve
a stated goal
it forges on
demanding love
it reaches in
and finds a deep gap
it stretches out
and finds the hand of God
in all it’s affairs
led by His staff
covered by His shield
crushed by a Sword
in it’s weakness
it finds strength
set apart
on uncommon ground

it's that old dream
me sitting on the black shore
not hearing you
whisper to my waves
you try to calm my
raging thoughts
implore me to listen
to the peace
 
i feel myself drift
into black water
my jumbled thoughts
roar
into tumbling waves
until i hear your one
clear command
  be still still
and know
that I AM GOD
